It is much easier to discuss ONLY the similarities or ONLY the differences, but you can also do both.

How do you usually make your choice among several options? Yes, you compare them then you contrast them, paying attention to their differences and similarities, advantages and disadvantages of each. This is what the comparison and contrast are all about. Now you have to choose a comparison essay topic. Before writing, note all of the similar and opposite points of the things you are comparing. It will facilitate your comparison and contrast essay writing process. In the introduction of your comparison you must identify the points of comparison and let the reader guess your preference. You may follow one of the two strategies preparing your comparison essay as can be seen in may comparison essay samples. Choose the first method if the compared items have a lot of little similarities and/or differences. In the first paragraphs after the introduction you must present all the information about the first object/person. In the following paragraphs you will begin discussing the second one. Remember, that is not just a description of the things, but you are to evaluate and contrast them in your essay. Use the second strategy if the objects have only a few but greater differences or similarities. In the first paragraphs of the body of your comparison and contrast essay talk about one difference or similarity for both objects. The next paragraph of your comparison and contrast essay will be devoted to discussing the second, the next to the third and so on. Be sure to present differences/similarities in the order of their importance, leaving the minor details for the end of your essay. You should touch upon both issues equally; otherwise it will create a sense of disproportion. Finally, here comes the well written final conclusion to your essay. As a rule, you should restate your thesis from the introduction in it. If you are still unsure about how to write your comparison and contrast essay and want a professional essay writer to help you .
